Nut Butter Balls

A nutty melt in your mouth and get powdered sugar on your hands treat.

Ingredients:

2 cups Flour
1/4 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 cup Butter, sweet, unsalted
2 tsps. Vanilla
2 cups Pecans, finely ground
1/2 lb. Powdered Sugar, consumed
1/2 lb. Powdered Sugar, left over

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°.

Sift the Flour, Sugar and Salt together in a bowl.

In a separate larger bowl, cream the Butter and Vanilla together.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend well.  Add the Pecans and mix well.

Roll the dough into balls about the diameter of a nickel and place on an ungreased cookie sheet at least an inch apart.  Bake for 20 to 22 minutes.

Remove the balls from the cookie sheet and roll in Powdered Sugar as soon as they are cool enough to handle but still warm.  Set aside to cool completely.

Notes:

For storing in layers, you can prevent the balls from sticking to each other by placing a piece of waxed paper between layers or dusting each completely cooled layer with more powdered sugar.
